OROQUIETA CITY, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL – The people of the province of Misamis Occidental gathered to celebrate its 95th Provincial Founding Anniversary with a poignant opening ceremony marked by reflection, gratitude, and hope for the future on November 2, 2024, at the Misamis Occidental Provincial Athletic Complex (MOPAC) Grandstand.

Joining with 10,000 Misamisnon present at the event, Governor Henry Oaminal delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the resilience and unity of the Misamisnon community throughout its storied history.

“Today, we celebrate a significant milestone in our shared history,” Governor Oaminal proclaimed, highlighting the journey that began on November 2, 1929, when Misamis Occidental was officially established.

He urged the community to honor their forefathers who envisioned a province rooted in resilience, diversity, and opportunity.

“We celebrate not only our past but also the spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines us. in recent years, we have faced new challenges, but together we have shown that we can adapt and thrive,” he said.

The celebration began with a solemn holy mass, expressing gratitude for the countless blessings bestowed upon the province over the past 95 years.
