TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental — In a joyous ceremony celebrating love, unity, and the strengthening of family ties, Governor Henry Oaminal led the mass wedding of 120 couples at Asenso Global Gardens in Tangub City. This event marked another milestone in the Asenso Misamis Occidental administration’s commitment to building stronger communities through family values.

The event, dubbed Kasalan sa Kapitolyo, is the third mass wedding organized by the provincial government since Governor Oaminal took office in 2022. With this latest ceremony, a total of 721 couples have been wed through the initiative, underscoring the administration’s ongoing effort to support and empower families in Misamis Occidental.
During his address, Governor Oaminal expressed his deepest congratulations to the newlywed couples, saying, “On behalf of the entire province, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our 120 couples who are now officially husbands and wives. This is a special day not only for you but for all of us in Misamis Occidental, as we continue to build a strong foundation for our future.”
The Governor emphasized that the mass wedding program is a key part of his administration’s broader vision to strengthen family bonds, which he sees as the core of society’s success. Citing the 1987 Constitution, which describes the family as “the foundation of the nation,” he affirmed, “The strength of Misamisnon families is the foundation of our communities. Strong families lead to a stronger province.”
As part of the Kasalan sa Kapitolyo celebration, the couples received a variety of complimentary services, including a prenuptial photoshoot, wedding attire, hair and makeup styling, a wedding cake, and a cash gift of PHP 20,000. In addition, special prizes were awarded to the oldest couple, youngest couple, couple with the biggest age gap, couple with the longest years of living together, and the couple with the most children.
These thoughtful gestures were aimed at making the couples’ special day memorable, while also supporting them as they embark on their new lives together.

In his speech, Governor Oaminal also encouraged the newlyweds to cherish their marriages and the support provided by the provincial government. “Take care of this opportunity and the support we have given you,” he said. “When parents are happy, children are happy, and when families are happy, our province prospers.”
As the couples embark on their journey together, Governor Oaminal wished them a lifetime of happiness, urging them to center their lives on love and faith.
“May the love you celebrate today grow even stronger in the years to come. There is no remedy for love but to love more. So, keep on loving each other.”
The Kasalan sa Kapitolyo program is part of a broader vision for the province under Governor Oaminal’s leadership, centered on fostering peace, prosperity, and happiness for all Misamisnons. (SN/PGMO)
