Misamis Occidental — The three-day exploratory visit of Korean investors to Misamis Occidental concluded with final site inspections and high optimism, as the delegation gained a clearer picture of the province’s readiness and long-term growth potential across key sectors.

From January 23 to 25, the investors toured priority projects in tourism, infrastructure, agriculture, and eco-development under the Asenso Administration of Governor Henry S. Oaminal, reflecting the province’s integrated and forward-looking development strategy.

On the third and final day of the visit, the delegation inspected the AMORAP coastline, identified as a potential site for a coastal golf course development, as part of broader tourism and leisure investment opportunities being explored in the province.

The investors also met with Ozamiz City Mayor Sam Norman Fuentes during their tour of the Asenso Ozamiz Wellness Park, the Cotta Shrine, and Cotta Fort, highlighting the city’s urban tourism assets and heritage sites.

Throughout the visit, provincial and local government officials, together with private sector partners, engaged the investors in discussions on project feasibility, investment readiness, and possible partnerships—underscoring strong institutional support and policy continuity.

Charlie Wee Yongho, Special Adviser to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), said Misamis Occidental is on a positive development track.

ā€œMisamis Occidental is now changing—new cities and new tourism developments. I’m impressed, and I applaud Governor Oaminal’s leadership,ā€ Wee said.

As the tour wrapped up, the investors expressed confidence in Misamis Occidental’s direction, reinforcing its position as a secure, investment-ready province open to partnerships that support inclusive and sustainable growth./PGMO
