Misamis Occidental — A three-day exploratory visit formally began on January 23 following the arrival of Korean investors in Misamis Occidental, opening new opportunities for partnership, innovation, and long-term collaboration.

The delegation was welcomed by the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental, together with the City Government of Ozamiz, led by Mayor Sam Norman Fuentes. The group included Charlie Wee, Special Adviser to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA); Seongsu Kim and Yejee Yoon of Kyung In REITs Corporation; and Tony Mu Lee, Chief Producer of 4M Media Entertainment Group.

Briefings and site visits were conducted at the Asenso Global Gardens, where proposed development plans—including a cable car project—were presented as part of the province’s long-term tourism strategy.

The investors also visited the Asenso Misamis Occidental Recreation and Adventure Park (AMORAP), where officials outlined plans for recreation-based and eco-tourism developments aimed at expanding visitor experiences while generating local economic activity.

Beyond project presentations, the first day served as a platform for dialogue among investors, provincial leaders, local government officials, and key stakeholders. Discussions focused on investment readiness, project viability, and potential areas for collaboration.

In the succeeding days, the delegation was set to visit coffee and cacao production areas across the province to explore opportunities in agriculture, value-added processing, and rural development. As the exploratory visit continued, both the Provincial Government and the investors expressed optimism toward forging partnerships that could unlock new opportunities and support inclusive growth in Misamis Occidental. /PGMO
