The province of Misamis Occidental comes alive with a festive mood every first week of November as it celebrates the Pasungko Festival. ‘Pasungko’ – a Subanen word which means “thanksgiving after a fruitful harvest”, provides a glimpse into the colorful culture of the Subanen people. Although the center of festivities rests in the provincial capital, Oroquieta City, it is celebrated province-wide with festivities that includes street dance and various events such as trade fairs, entertainment-related contests. Interesting tourist activities makes this festival a must experience event.
