VISION : With God’s overflowing blessings, Misamis Occidental will ensure a nutritional well-being of all Misamisnons, by empowering the people to be self-reliant, living on a peaceful, healthy, highly productive, sustainable ecosystem and service-oriented leadership towards Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon, ug Malipayon.
MISSION : The Provincial Government will conquer malnutrition through the collaborative efforts between the government, civil society and other stakeholders in achieving a healthy quality of life for a better service to God and for Misamis Occidental.
Our Tasks :
- Initiate and ensure the conduct of a regular Provincial Nutrition Committee (PNC) meetings and other form for consultation and dialogue;
- Lead the nutrition planning core group in crafting the Provincial Nutrition Action Plan
- Ensure the integration of the Provincial Plan of Action in Nutrition (PPAN) in the Local Development and Investment Plan;
- Coordinate the implementation of the PPAN and initiate periodic inter-agency visits/ Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) to the municipalities/barangays to assess the progress of implementation;
- Coordinate with the City/Municipal Nutrition Action Officers and reactivation of the Municipal/Barangays Nutrition Committees.;
- Consult key informants in the locality, e.g. personnel of the local offices of Agriculture, Health, Social Welfare and Development Office, Dep Ed, C/MPDC, DILG-MLGOO, BNSs, NGOs operating in the area, and those in the provincial and regional levels relative to the implementation of local nutrition programs;
- Visit barangays and conduct consultations with barangay officials and residents and have dialogues with the beneficiaries regarding their needed nutrition programs; and
- Assess and monitors the Operation Timbang of under 5 years old and school children province wide.

Our Programs :
Capacity Development Program
- We conduct, initiate and facilitate skills enhancement trainings to City/ Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, Barangays Nutrition Scholars, Nutrition Committees, nutrition staff and all nutrition workers. Also, we provided technical assistance to LGUS in the conduct of their trainings.
Nutrition Specific Program
- Programs that would address the basic causes of malnutrition
- Dietary Supplementation Program to undernourished under 5-yr old children
- Complementary Feeding Program to 6-23 months old children
- Adolescent, Preconception, And Maternal Health and Nutrition
- Maternal Dietary or Micronutrient Supplementation
- Promotion Of Optimum Breastfeeding
- Responsive Feeding Practices and Stimulation
- Nutrition In Emergencies
- Management of obese and overweight at all life stages
- Support to Food Fortification Program: Iodized Salt Monitoring, Flour Fortified with Iron
- Conduct of Nutrition Education to target-focused clients: pregnant, lactating, school children, PWDs, senior citizens and general populace
Nutrition Sensitive Program
- Programs that would address the underlying causes of malnutrition. At the first glance, these are no nutrition programs, but if tweaked or modified, it can promote nutritional outcome. These programs will improve physical and economic access to food, access to sanitary toilets and safe drinking water and responsible parenthood (ex. Infrastructure nutrition-farm to market roads, Diskwento Caravans, among others)
